Google glass


 “Google glass”
             When the whole world is in a rush you can’t really restrict you without using any gadgets in this digital world. With a Wide range of gadgets starting from mobile phones, laptops, tablets and smart watches, it is not possible to restrict yourself. Every year billions of smartphones were sold after the release of android and iOS. One such device “Google glass” is our “Hardware touch of the month”.
What is a Google glass?
       Google glass, another innovative product from Google™. Basically Google glass is a wearable computer with OMAP 4430 SoC, Dual core CPU and it is powered by Android OS. Manufactured by Foxconn. Also it has Optical head mounted Display (OHMD) with supporting features such as Wi-Fi connectivity and internet connectivity. Google glass can be controlled by voice commands and “My glass” companion app (supported only by Android ICS (4.0.3) and above and also by iOS 7.0 and higher versions). It is provided with a touchpad located in the frames for physical interface.

·       Storage: 16 GB flash memory (only 12 GB is usable).

·       Camera: Photos with 5 Megapixels and video with 720p resolution.
·       Connectivity: Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g), Bluetooth and USB.
·       Display: Prism projector with 640x360 pixels (like screen which is app. 10ft away), uses a Liquid crystal on Silicon, fields sequential color and LED display.
·       Sensors: Ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, gyroscope, accelerometer and magnetometer.
·       Sound: A low power sound processor (Bone conduction Transducer) and microphone for voice command.
·       Operating system: Android.
Features:
Google glass provide a wide variety of functionality most them match with the smart phones. You can do the following functionalities in a Google glass:

·       Google maps (Navigation)
·       Take pictures
·       Record videos
·       Phone calls
·       Google+ Hangouts
·       Send and receive messages
·      Gmail         
·       And much more third party apps are being released in the market which provide additional functionalities.
More about voice commands:
Google glass is not always ON. It listen to your commands only when say “OK glass”. For instance, “take a picture”, “Record a video” and “Hangout with person name or Google+ circle” are some the voice commands.
Market status:  
 Google glass Explorer Edition is available for the developers for $1,500 and is also available for the general people in US for the same price.
